Arrived today, won off ebay! I've been collecting Vera scarves and linens for years, but have never seen Vera dress block patterns before. I was so happy to win this on ebay (no other offers!) I'm so tempted to make the dress up, but also want to save the fabric as it's so rare. I think there is enough of the pieces to make two dresses, so might make up one?? Not sure! Just in love with this print!

Vintage Meisen Kimono Silk. Last night I received my two pieces I won off ebay ( $3 each), sent from Japan and I am in love! I need more!
It's hard to find vintage kimono fabric that I really love and these are perfect. They have that crunch silk hand that makes up beautifully! The lengths are perfect to make baby dresses, I'm excited to get started on some new designs!
Ok, so I have been purchasing a silly amount of vintage fabrics from ebay lately. You know how you go ages without looking and then you think, hmm, I will just check and see whats up and then you have to check every day :P Well, as an excuse I have been making baby clothes out of vintage fabrics to sell in my shop in Spring! I am just so much more inspired by vintage fabrics than new. Some are odd and a little quirky which I love! Here are a few of the many:

This October 3rd & 4th a local Seattle "fabric swap community" called Our Fabric Stash is having a Purge Party Fabric Sale! I'm going to be consigning a bunch of fabrics and some super glam trims to these gals to sell, plus doing some shopping of my own. buying vintage fabric. I have started going to estate sales again. Little Sadie in the carrier on my front, checking out all the goodies. I have found a few pieces of groovy vintage fabrics and snagged a bunch of vintage craft magazines, my favorite, I don't know when I will ever get a chance to read them, but I feel like I have saved them from an undetermined end. That is how I justify buying many, many vintage patterns as well, I'm saving them :)
This one I found on ebay, so very dangerous. I have been so good and haven't bought anything off ebay in ages. But, once you start, it's very hard to stop! I'm on it every day now like it's my job.
For Mother's Day I am giving my mother in law who quilts this cute pastry box of Moda quilting honeybuns on special from Fabric.com. I think you could pretty much put anything in a pastry box and I would buy it.
