I'm watching Project Runway on demand as last night I met up with Tina (from Glamspoon) & Kim (from Kimmi Designs) to check out Fashion First runway show. It is a charity fashion show event that has been going for 9 years and is one of the most fashionable event in Seattle. So, photos like this of me (far left) really put a fire under my butt to loose weight and stick to my diet!
Concidering that 1/2 of the women at this event were wearing "dresses" that barely covered their butts. So, again, oh dear.
This week I've tried, failed and tried again with Kale. It's such a beautiful veg, until you cook it. Steaming it, yuck. I tried a red onion/ brown rice/ kale steamed thing, again, yuck. But took that mixture and added it to tofu, stir fried it with soy sauce. Success, yum!
My friend Naomi (The Taste Traveler) gave me a good tip for working with Kale. Brush with olive oil, add salt & pepper and roast until crispy. Then, crunch up and sprinkle over rice. Crisp it up! I'm trying that next.
Ate a lot of salads this week (which I love) and did pretty good, except for letting myself have a few bites of chocolate. Sometimes, it's just necessary!
Weight lost this week: Scale at home: 0 lbs. Scale at the gym: 2 lbs (so we'll go with that one :)
Exercise: 2 trips to the gym (with one scheduled for tomorrow) and a long walk.
Challenge next week: drink more water, eat less nuts and oil. More exercise.
