Well, I'm half way through the 9th month! I'm feeling pretty good, just very heavy with this enormous bump that kicks and pushes me around. It's feeling like she is wanting to burst out of my belly button! This summer pregnancy has gone by so fast and I feel like these last two weeks are dragging, I just can't wait to meet our little girl.
Hubby and I have been having fun getting ready for baby and have finished the lovely nursery. The room we transformed was originally all in this crazy bright orange, so we toned it down with lavender walls, keeping the orange trim. We found the perfect Warhol rug that tied all the colors of the room together.
For some artwork I took one of hubby's photographs of a Winnebago and put it through the Warholizer site. It took a few hours of patience because it's random with the colors and you just have to keep shuffling until it comes up with the color combination that you like. Nice thing is you can order a print off the sight of your exact color choice, then I just popped it in a frame.
I am obsessed with rabbits right now and just love this gal's work.
Hubs and I collaborated on this doll house book shelf. We had seen one at Costco for $269 and I thought I can make that for under $75. I bought the white cube shelf at K-mart for $40 and the doll house accessories, working door & windows at a little doll house supply shop in my neighborhood. The flower and butterfly decals are from Joann's along with the little fence. You could make this even cheaper if you used an already existing shelf and found the accessories on ebay. Painting all of the windows and door took the longest, but was very fun and hubby made the lovely roof and mounted the shelf on the wall. We are going to use it for diapers and things and then baby can use it for dollies when she is older.
I finished my most recent crochet baby project. I had found this vintage crochet purse and copied the shell type crochet pattern for the skirt and ruffle, it sort of became this little jumper dress. I'm pleased that I learned a new crochet pattern and with how this dress turned out. I'm almost finished with the crochet stuffed bunny doll, just need to sew the body parts together and add some felt pieces. The next crochet project with be using some lovely soy and bamboo yarn that I found on sale at Joann's, so soft and yummy!
I feel like I have to do all of these little projects to keep from going loopy waiting for baby to arrive!
My name is Suzy Fairchild and I've been rambling here since 2005. I am a full time mom of two little girls and I design a fun line of vintage inspired dresses and share events here. Thanks for visiting! xoxo
