RicRac Fun...
We are babies in Seattle. It is around 85 degrees today and all we can do is complain. We get one week of sunny days a year, but what are ya gonna do :) At least there is a brisk breeze coming through my hot upstairs studio, so I'm trying not to complain too much.
My lovely mother gave me this skirt a while ago. It was a full circle which made my bum look like the side of a barn. I have been wanting to alter it, so finally got around to it today. I took out about half of it and this is the finished skirt. I added a brown (drop) waist band with camel topstitching. I had so much left over I decided to make up an apron.
The apron only took half of the leftovers, so I still have more to work with... Maybe a bag to match? Unfortunately, you can see my messy bins in the background, yeesh.
I love using ricrac! I have put it under the grosgrain ribbon tie and around the patch pocket. I think I may have to put my apron on and go lay in the shady grass of the backyard now. My poor Seattle blood isn't used to this heat :)

They both look great, i love the fabric.

Thank you! They came in handy in this heat! You can't beat a soft cotton skirt when the it's hot out :)
