I have these darling Vintage Apron Patterns available now in my ebay fabric store, Fabulous-Fabric-Finds
Oh, I feel like baking cookies now!
These great bright bags are available now online at Fabulous-Fabric-Finds !
I found this great Retro animal pattern at an estate sale. These plush toy animals are so cute! I made the bunny for our friend Ruby's 1st birthday. It was pretty easy to follow, a bit fiddly with the little pattern pieces. I'm not used to sewing such small pieces. I used vintage fabrics which I washed well before cutting and put a baggie of jingle bells inside to make a rattle noise. Instead of yarn for the tail I used a super soft fake fur and sewed it into a puff ball.
I think bunny turned out pretty cute, I'm happy with the colors. It looked a bit like an alien until I put the ears and the bow on. Ruby did like it, even though she looks a bit worried here...
Click Here . to download the rabbit and the horse pattern. The patterns are in the Flickr Vintage Pattern collection. You can scroll through and save each pattern to your computer and then print it out at 8.5 x 11".
For little Ruby's 1st birthday I also got to use my new circle cutter toy! I made little stickers with her face on it to decorate her gift and make little 1" buttons.
The circle cutter worked well to cut circles, but it was difficult to center the image. I think it is best for just cutting plain circles of paper. The button maker works like a dream. Everyone at Ruby's party got a kick out of having a Ruby button!
I found this LeeWards ad in a 1968 knitting magazine called Workbasket. LeeWards was apparently bought out by Michael's in 1994. I wish that kits like this were still made! I have one of these bags that I bought at an estate sale for $8. I have seen them in vintage shops for over $30. Here is a picture of the one that I have:
Now I want to find more of these, especially the peacock design!
Stacks of super fabulous vintage fabrics that I am sorting through for the ebay store. Some will be put up for auction, but most will be available for buy-it-now in Fabulous-Fabric-Finds .
This new bag matches the ...I Heart Fabric... header. This is one of a kind as I only had a few pieces of the daisy fabric (boo) but I do have some fabrics very similar so can repeat this style.
At last! The first collection of new Spring bags delivered today to Presence on Broadway. I will put some of them up on the website for sale, but please email me with any enquiries for special orders. Presence is a great shop in Seattle that is host to a lot of local artists. Donna, the owner has recently moved the shop to Broadway in the Tudor, Loveless Building and the new space looks lovely.
I just love how the turqoise pops in this photo! Probably because the backdrop is our bleak grey weather! Let hope for sun soon!
Hello! My first post will be about what? Fabric! Vintage Fabric, my favorite! A recent excursion to an estate sale with Jason (my most patient boyfriend) I went a bit mad and tried to buy a whole housefull. These fabrics are inspiring and making me excited for Spring bags and projects. I have boxes of vintage fabric that I will be putting into my ebay fabric store this week Fabulous-Fabric-Finds . I will also soon update this site with great pictures of fabric and some cute projects. Now I need to figure out how to update my blog, xo Suzy
